The Colwell Law Group is a quickly growing law firm with multiple offices across New York. We are currently searching for a Matrimonial and Family Law Attorney to join our practiced, passionate, and committed legal team. As a part of The Colwell Law Group's legal staff, you will provide guidance and support on behalf of individuals experiencing trying periods in their lives. Our legal professionals assist clients with a variety of issues, including but not restricted to separation/divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence-related concerns. To qualify for this role, candidates must maintain composure, have superior negotiating aptitude, and be able to remain strong in emotionally-charged and high-pressure circumstances.Compensation:
$80,000 - $100,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Manage a personal caseload meticulously.
- Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders.
- Communicate with senior partners, attorneys, and legal support staff to effectively move through the litigation process.
- Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing their situation, and forming a strategic plan of action.
- Ensure clients are effectively represented at court appearances, conferences, hearings, and trials.
- Attend legal team meetings and monthly case reviews organized by the Director of Legal or the Regional Managing Attorney.
- Must be a licensed attorney to practice law in the State of New York.
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication and negotiation.
- Prior litigation experience (with a focus on Matrimonial and Family Law is preferred).
- Possesses strong legal research and writing skills.
- Outstanding professional judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
