Supervising Psychologist (Clinical Director)

Location: New Castle, DE

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 37.5 hours per week

Employment Type: W-2

Compensation: $125,000–$130,000 annually

Position Summary

The Columbus Organization is seeking a dedicated Supervising Psychologist (Clinical Director) to join our team in New Castle, DE. This leadership role plays an integral part in facilitating positive change in the behavior and condition of children and families served within a trauma-informed environment. The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership, supervisory oversight, and program development to ensure the highest standards of care, while promoting respect, collaboration, and positive outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


Lead:

  • Foster a supportive environment for staff clinical skill development.
  • Motivate and guide team members to perform at their highest potential.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across the team.
  • Model and instill values of respect and caring in all interactions.
  • Oversee training requirements (40 hours/year for state licensing; 28 departmental, including 8 in trauma-informed care).

Direct:

  • Delegate clinical and program improvement tasks appropriately.
  • Track delegated responsibilities and ensure timely completion.

Supervise:

  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision to staff working with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Oversee training programs for interns and students, including direct supervision.
  • Facilitate weekly case reviews, clinical documentation, and treatment planning.

Develop:

  • Build structures that support collaborative decision-making.
  • Set divisional and departmental goals (length of stay, parental involvement, discharge success rates).
  • Review, revise, and develop clinical policies as needed.
  • Assist in developing specialized diagnostic units.

Performance Improvement:

  • Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance client outcomes and program efficiency.
  • Monitor compliance standards for clinical and billing documentation.
  • Support milieu management and behavioral support initiatives.
  • Assist with CARF-related improvement planning.

Trauma-Informed Practice:

  • Develop and implement trauma-informed strategies for both clients and staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure training and implementation of trauma-informed practices across staff levels.
  • Support the creation of an environment that prioritizes safety, security, and healing.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD/PsyD).
  • Current licensure as a Psychologist in Delaware (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of child, adolescent, and family therapy.
  • Experience in trauma-informed care and program development strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.


Salary : $125,000 - $130,000
