The Columbia Bakehouse is looking for a Production & Customer Support Team Member!
We’re a small, busy bakery in Rainier, Oregon, and we’re looking for someone dependable, hardworking, and ready to jump in wherever they’re needed.
This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes and front-of-house role. You’ll work alongside our bakers and pastry team to help keep production moving while also helping take care of our customers.
What you’ll do:
- Assist with daily bakery production
- Scale and prep ingredients
- Mix, portion, shape, and prepare doughs and pastries
- Assist with pies, cookies, breads, pastries, and other bakery products
- Prepare fillings, toppings, and other components
- Package and label finished products
- Keep production areas clean and organized
- Provide friendly, helpful customer service
- Operate the register and Square POS system
- Take customer orders and answer questions about our products
- Keep the front counter and retail area stocked and presentable
- Wash dishes and keep production areas clean and organized
- Help with opening/closing duties and general bakery upkeep
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Pitch in wherever needed — because in a small bakery, everyone does a little bit of everything
- What we’re looking for:
- Reliable and punctual — this one is non-negotiable
- Friendly and comfortable interacting with customers
- Comfortable handling a register and cash
- Able to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Comfortable working on your feet and moving at a steady pace
- Good attention to detail
- Takes direction well and can work independently once trained
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Previous bakery, food service, or customer service experience is helpful, but we’re willing to train the right person
- Food Handler’s Card required
- Must be available for morning shifts, weekends and Holidays
The schedule:
Part-time to start, with opportunities for additional hours. Bakery production starts early, so morning availability is important.
