Summary:The HR Generalist & Title IX Coordinator administers a broad range of human resources functions with a primary focus on leave and absence management, employee relations, and compliance.Essential Departmental Duties and Responsibilities:Leave and Absence Management

  • Administer employee leave and absence programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, military leave, paid parental leave, and other applicable leave programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding leave and accommodation requests.
  • Oversee with Third Party Administrator (TPA) assistance the leave-of-absence process from initiation through return-to-work, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and College policies.
  • Partner with employee, and supervisor to implement reasonable accommodations. Using the interactive process for workplace accommodation.
  • Work with employees, supervisors, and TPA to maintain accurate leave records, track employee eligibility, and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
  • Partner with payroll, benefits, and supervisors to ensure accurate processing of leave-related transactions.

Title IX Coordination and Compliance

  • Serve as the College’s designated Title IX Coordinator
  • Receive, assess, and respond to reports of sex-based discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, dating violence, and related prohibited conduct.
  • Coordinate supportive measures and resources for involved parties.
  • Oversee Title IX grievance procedures and ensure prompt, equitable, and impartial resolution processes.
  • Coordinate training and educational programming related to Title IX and prevention of sex-based discrimination and harassment.
  • Maintain Title IX records and prepare required reports and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with campus partners including Student Affairs, Campus Safety, Athletics, Academic Affairs, on Title IX matters.
  • Monitor changes in applicable Title IX regulations and recommend policy, training, and procedural updates as necessary.

Employee Relations and HR Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Support employee relations activities, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, performance concerns, corrective action, and disciplinary processes.
  • Maintain employee records and support HRIS data integrity.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities.

Compliance and Policy Administration

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Maintain required employment records and reports.
  • Participate in policy reviews and recommend updates to align with legal and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Strategic Initiatives

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships across campus departments.
  • Participate in institutional committees and working groups as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience administering employee leave programs, FMLA, ADA accommodations, or employee relations matters.
  • Experience with Title IX administration, investigations, compliance, or related programs.

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other leave-related regulations.
  • Knowledge of Title IX regulations and civil rights compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations.
  • Strong ability using MS Office Suite (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint), HRIS systems; Case management, and applicant tracking systems.

  • Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to handle complex situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
