Facilities Grounds Crew

Job Summary:

To assist with providing cleaning/ services to grounds and campus buildings as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• 1. Floor care: including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
• 2. Empty trash and recycle containers and pick up trash around campus grounds.
• 3. Stairways: including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping stairs.
• 4. Sweep, shovel and complete snow removal around campus.
• 5. Assisting with work orders and event set ups.
• 6. Grounds maintenance including: Lawn mowing, weed whipping, flower garden care,
• sweeping, and raking.
• 7. Fleet vehicle care: washing, vacuuming, fueling, checking tire pressure etc.
• 8. Operation of lawn mowers, weed whips, snowblowers and kubota’s.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a current or incoming CSS student.
Federal work study eligibility is required (international students exempt)

• Ability to read and understand MSDS sheets and instructions related to chemical usage.
• Ability to bend and stoop in order to clean out of the way areas.
• Ability to push and pull a vacuum cleaner, broom and mop.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move tables and chairs in order to clean areas thoroughly (Max of 75 lbs.).
• Ability to work with chemicals for cleaning purposes.
• Ability to reach overhead for extended periods of time.
• Exceptional work ethic and timeliness commitment every shift.
• Willingness to shift work schedules as necessary.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and be able to work independently.
• Ability to interact with a diverse group of people in a friendly, professional manner.
• Honesty and professionalism.
• Attend and participate in all required training.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Driver’s license and previous experience is preferred.
