What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista (Part-Time) position at The Coffee Shop?
We are looking for a new barista to join our team who will be able to contribute to our positive atmosphere and who can help our shop grow even more through their hard work and great communication skills.
We are able to offer a part-time position of 20-25 hours/week. Any level of experience is welcome. In order to maintain our flexible scheduling, we require that everyone be available for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts as well as weekends. Note: this position's compensation includes tips.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be outgoing and able to have genuine interactions with all kinds of people
- Have a passion for coffee, tea, and other beverages
- Love working with a small team for a local business
- Be available to work a minimum of 15 hours/week
- Enjoy working on their feet in a clean, fast-paced environment
- Display a passion for learning about and serving wonderful coffee!
- Have a pun or two up their sleeve
- Be able to represent The Coffee Shop motto, "Love All, Serve All"
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly at the drive thru and lobby when applicable
- Answer customer questions regarding the menu
- Take orders while paying attention to details (ex. preferences of coffee roast, dairy, sugar ratio etc.)
- Receive and process card and cash payments
- Keep the bar area clean
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Wash and sanitize equipment throughout every shift
- Memorize and make a wide variety of beverages and sandwiches
