Fireplace/Appliance Store Retail Sales/Labor

Duties

• Handle daily operations of retail store and warehouse/facility.
• Provide requested information and handle sales of coal, wood, pellet stoves, parts and accessories as well as kitchen and laundry appliances (washers/dryers/refrigerators, etc).
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction and loyalty
• Coordinate scheduling of product deliveries to customers
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting with accuracy and integrity
• Load bulk/bagged products and appliances on customers vehicles/trailers using wheel loader and/or large forklift.
• Handle daily office phone calls, emails, and social media messaging to ensure responsive handling of customer inquiries.
• E-Commerce sales, listing, and order packing.
• Appliance testing and tear down of salvage units
• Assist with unloading tractor trailer appliance/hearth deliveries

Requirements

• Experience in sales of kitchen/laundry appliances, and/or fireplace store environments is a plus
• Ability to lift 50lb bags of coal/wood pellets repeatedly is a must
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment, wheel loader, forklift and move products/load customer vehicles a must!
• Ability to be able to handle moving 300-400lb appliances with wheel cart is a must!
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with POS systems, purchasing procedures, cash handling protocols, and store management software
• Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
• Strong interpersonal skills including phone etiquette and customer service excellence

Schedule

• Typical schedule Monday-Friday 10am-6pm
• Some earlier/later days required when appliance loads are coming in

This is a physically demanding position. Some of the day will be spent sitting/standing at the counter or desk doing paperwork/handling transactions. A big portion of the day is spent on your feet working outside in rainy/snowy conditions and operating a large wheel loader with bucket/forks and moving heavy products/appliances. If you are not capable of getting a 350 lb refrigerator onto a pallet from the floor with an appliance dolly by yourself-- this is not the position for you.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
