Duties
- Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments to understand clients’ needs, goals, and physical capabilities
- Design personalized workout programs leveraging biomechanics, physiology knowledge, and program design principles
- Lead engaging group fitness classes and one-on-one training sessions with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Ensure safety by applying manual handling techniques, heavy lifting protocols, and first aid procedures including CPR and AED operation
- Build strong client rapport through effective communication, motivation, and exceptional customer service
- Promote fitness services and programs to increase client engagement and retention
- Maintain accurate records of client progress, workout plans, and session details while adhering to liability insurance requirements
Skills
- Proven sports coaching experience with the ability to motivate diverse groups of clients
- In-depth understanding of body mechanics, anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics
- Certification in personal training with current CPR/AED certification (First aid, Kinesiology and or exercise science degree preferred)
- Expertise in program design tailored to individual needs, including nutrition advice when appropriate
- Strong communication skills for coaching clients effectively and building lasting relationships
- Experience teaching physical education or group fitness classes in health club or gym environments
- Knowledge of fitness sales techniques to promote services confidently and ethically
