Key Responsibilities
Member & Guest Experience:
- Provide a warm and friendly greeting to all members and guests upon arrival in the golf shop.
- Offer assistance in selecting merchandise and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
- Ensure the golf shop is always clean, organized, and visually appealing to enhance the shopping experience.
- Build relationships with members by remembering preferences and past purchases.
- Assist with any special requests to enhance the overall golf experience.
- Answer phone calls in a welcoming manner, take accurate notes, and relay important information to the appropriate staff.
- Communicate all day-of changes or additions (tee times, guest arrivals, special requests) to the entire golf staff, with special emphasis on informing the Outside Golf Services team to ensure a seamless experience.
- Track and properly charge for all golf-related fees, including golf carts, push carts, and walking rounds.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, member transactions, and any adjustments as needed.
- Follow all opening and closing procedures, ensuring the golf shop is prepared for the day or secured at closing.
- Keep the golf shop clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Monitor and track supplies (scorecards, tees, pencils, etc.) and notify professional staff when inventory is low.
- Assist with tournament preparations, event sign-ups, and answering member inquiries.
- Assist in receiving, tagging, and displaying merchandise in an organized and attractive manner.
- Keep clothing racks, shelves, and displays tidy and well-stocked.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all retail areas, including folding and organizing apparel.
- Restock merchandise and proactively identify high-demand products.
- Work closely with the professional staff to ensure seamless golf operations.
- Communicate effectively regarding member preferences, requests, and any special accommodations.
- Support other team members in a proactive and positive manner.
- Assist with member events, tournaments, and any other golf shop-related duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A passion for golf and knowledge of the game, equipment, and retail trends is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong hospitality mindset.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, member-facing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting.
