Lead Events Server (Casual/On-Call)
Role Overview
The Lead Events Server is responsible for supporting the seamless execution of all private events and Club-hosted functions at The Club at Kukui?ula, including golf tournaments, holiday celebrations, and special member events. This role serves as a working supervisor who often arrives prior to the event team to review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), coordinate event layouts, assign service sections, and ensure all timelines and service details are clearly understood and executed. In addition to delivering exceptional food and beverage service, the Lead Events Server supports team members on the floor, steps into service or bartending roles as needed, and ensures all service standards and Club expectations are consistently met. This position plays a key role in event setup, guest experience, liquor accountability when required, and post-event breakdown, while modeling professionalism, teamwork, and the spirit of Aloha at all times
Key Responsibilities
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with the Events Coordinator prior to each event.
- Plan room layouts, service flow, and timing to ensure successful event execution.
- Assign service sections and duties to event staff.
- Lead event setup, ensuring all tables, décor, equipment, and service stations meet Club standards.
- Provide high-level food and beverage service during events.
- Act as a working supervisor by assisting team members, serving guests, and bartending as needed.
- Monitor guest needs throughout the event and ensure prompt, attentive service.
- Maintain liquor counts and bar organization when applicable.
- Ensure all equipment is properly broken down, cleaned, and returned to designated storage areas.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management before, during, and after events.
- Represent The Club at Kukui?ula with professionalism, warmth, and Aloha.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in banquet, event, or upscale food and beverage service.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a service team.
- Strong understanding of banquet service standards and event flow.
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to hospitality and member service.
- Ability to remain calm and resourceful in a fast-paced event environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to step into various service roles as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry trays, equipment, and supplies up to 40 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors during events.
- Valid Hawai?i liquor service certification (or ability to obtain).
- Commitment to upholding The Club's service standards and appearance guidelines.
Salary Range $ $42.00 USD Hourly
