Duties
- Lead and supervise daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards.
- Manage retail sales activities, including merchandising, stocking, and inventory control, to maximize sales potential.
- Oversee cashiering functions, including cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and balancing registers accurately.
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new employees while providing comprehensive employee orientation and ongoing training & development.
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote products and increase customer engagement.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries promptly and professionally while maintaining phone etiquette.
- Supervise shift management, delegate tasks efficiently, and ensure proper store coverage during operating hours.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Maintain organizational standards through bookkeeping, record keeping, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Utilize management skills to motivate staff, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive store culture.
- Implement merchandising strategies that enhance product presentation and optimize sales opportunities.
- Engage in community outreach or local marketing initiatives to boost store visibility within the neighborhood.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or as an assistant manager within a retail environment; supervisory experience is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, supervise staff performance, and foster professional growth.
- Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation, recruiting, interviewing, training & development, and employee orientation.
- Solid understanding of inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and retail math principles.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks.
- Strong organizational skills coupled with excellent customer service orientation; adept at problem-solving under pressure.
