The Assistant Plant Manager (APM) will serve on the Atlanta Main leadership team and will be responsible for management of day-to-day plant operations. The APM builds and upholds a plant culture in line with our company value and leadership behaviors. The APM will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, sustainability, customer service, cost, and production goals are attained. The APM is also responsible for developing and executing long term plans to support business goals including increasing organizational capacity by continually improving key operational metrics. The APM will work proactively with the Plant Manager, Plant leadership team, production associates, staff organizations, and vendors/suppliers/contractors to drive improved business results. The APM must work across organizational boundaries and barriers, collaborating with others to identify, develop, and execute against business strategies and opportunities. The APM will be responsible for evaluating talent and developing the next generation of operations leadership.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure an environment where safety is a core value. Work with Plant Leadership, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations to create, implement and constantly update safety requirements for the facility.
• Drive and nurture an empowered, high performance culture that includes developing people (exempt and non-exempt), driving world class safety performance and programs, managing change, continuous improvement, and reducing operating costs. Work proactively to foster an environment of trust, open communication, and ownership.
• Coach organization on systems, structure, goals, and priorities. Model and hold the organization accountable for continuous improvement in all metrics and drive a people centered production model to world class results.
• Lead a team of managers. Work to disseminate priorities for team and facility and implementation strategies for self and direct reports.
• Continuously increase organizational capacity by coaching and developing managers and associates to increase efficiency and reduce waste and loss.

What we look for:

• 5 years plant operations experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to manage safety and quality metrics
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop talent at all levels of the organization
• Ability to develop and execute supply chain, equipment, productivity, cost, and loss elimination masterplans
• Results oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate operations metrics
• Balances short term and long term results
• Hold high standards and expectations for performance and behavior
• Implementation of and coaching others on TPM and Lean Methodologies
• Strong independent leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage change
• Demonstrated ability to manage and influence culture
• Proficiency in documentation and computing, including report generation, database maintenance, and resource tracking.
• Excellent organization and project management skills
• Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
• Bachelors or equivalent experience
