What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Manager position at The Cliburn?
Bring your hospitality talent to the world stage.
You’ve built your career on unforgettable moments: the wedding that ran flawlessly, the gala that left guests talking, the private event where every detail felt effortless. Now imagine using those skills where world-class music meets world-class hospitality.
The Cliburn is one of the most celebrated names in classical music. Founded in 1962 to honor Van Cliburn’s historic win in Moscow, our international piano competition draws extraordinary young artists, devoted patrons, and audiences from around the globe to Fort Worth. Year-round, our concerts and events bring together a community that values beauty, excellence, and gracious hospitality.
The Role
As Events Manager, you’ll work alongside our Director of Donor Relations to create elevated experiences for the Cliburn’s most valued patrons, from intimate dinners to signature galas. You’ll turn the Director’s vision into polished reality, manage vendors and venues, support table and sponsorship sales, oversee invitations and event materials, and make sure every guest feels expected and cared for.

Who You Are
- 3–5 years of event experience in weddings, galas, luxury hospitality, private clubs, or other high-touch settings
- Polished and poised with discerning clients, and you know when to step forward and when to defer
- Meticulous with details, timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships
- Self-motivated, calm under pressure, and energized by a fast pace
- Discreet, gracious, and happy to pitch in wherever the team needs you
- Bachelor’s degree required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or another CRM, and fundraising or sales experience, are a plus.
