Digital Marketing Intern

The Clever Group is a creative branding agency built for bold moves and smart storytelling. We specialize in unique, strategy-driven branding and marketing solutions for brands, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Intern to join our team and help amplify our online presence through content and campaigns that actually connect. Houston-based? Great. Remote? Also great. We care more about your ideas and hustle than your zip code. You’ll work closely with our Digital Marketing Director to shape how The Clever Group shows up in the digital world.

While you are allowed to receive college credit, this is an unpaid internship! The internship program will last for 6 months.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

• Plan and schedule standout content across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Threads)
• Write captions, campaign copy, and email subject lines that sound nothing like AI
• Research trends, hashtags, audio, and design formats to keep our content ahead of the curve
• Curate and deploy email marketing campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp or ConvertKit
• Build and maintain content calendars aligned with brand launches, events, and creative drops
• Track performance metrics across social and email, and report on insights
• Pitch fresh ideas for growth, engagement, and community-building strategies
• Collaborate with Brand Managers and our in-house Creative Team to align content and visuals

Ideal Candidates Should Have:

• Are fluent in the language of social media: trends, tone, formats, and features.
• Have experience managing or curating content for brands or your own platform.
• Understand basic social and email marketing metrics, and what makes content convert.
• Write with clarity, personality, and adaptability.
• Communicate clearly, stay organized, and enjoy collaborating with creatives.

It Would Be Even More Amazing, If You know of :

• Email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, Flodesk, or ConvertKit
• Social media scheduling tools (e.g., SocialBee, Later, Planoly, Buffer)
• Design Tools (Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite)
• How to keep a brand voice consistent across content types
