Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and collaborative Accounting Manager to be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the organization while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting. This position will manage core accounting functions, support financial compliance, and provide timely financial information to leadership to support sound business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger activities.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of accounting records.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
- Monitor and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, reporting regulations, and accounting standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Support department managers and company leadership by providing financial reporting and operational insights.
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience managing general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
