Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated ISO 20022 Champion to lead our messaging standards strategy and execution. This role is pivotal in ensuring our payment systems remain globally interoperable and aligned with the evolving landscape of HVPS , CBPR , and Fedwire specifications as well as relevant real-time initiates (such as RTP, FedNow and IP ) specifications. You will serve as the bridge between industry working groups, internal technology teams, and our network participants, driving the adoption of best practices and maintaining the integrity of our message usage guidelines.

The anticipated annual salary range for NY-based candidates for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 Base salary and position level will be determined by the role, experience, skill set and location. For eligible positions, discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded contingent on personal and company performance. - Standards Management & Documentation: Document and implement annual updates to message usage guides, ensuring alignment with the latest HVPS , CBPR , and Fedwire release cycles
- Author and manage draft and final usage guidelines within SWIFT MyStandards, including the creation of valid sample messages for testing and implementation
- Proactively review existing usage guidelines to enhance clarity, reduce ambiguity, and suggest structural improvements
- Manage The Clearing House homepage on MyStandards to include oversight of TCH’s Open and Closed Communities
- Actively participate in HVPS meetings and other industry forums (including the US Market Practice/CBPR US Mirror Group) to influence and stay ahead of global messaging trends
- Facilitate User Group Meetings related to message changes and review proposed updates with Participants; collaborate closely with internal technology teams to ensure technical feasibility
- Serve as the internal ISO 20022 Champion, promoting the adoption of standards and maximizing the utility of industry tools like MyStandards
- Provide SME support for all CHIPS message related customer documentation (including but not limited to the CHIPS Messaging Guide and the CHIPS Systems and Operations User Guide)
- Review use cases for the introduction of new messages and migration from legacy formats (e.g. migrate legacy CHIPS reporting to ISO 20022)
- Provide SME support to Participants and internal stakeholders as needed, especially during testing and the lead-up to a new release of the MUGs
- Knowledge Transfer: Design and deliver educational sessions on ISO 20022 messages and best practices for internal staff, external participants, and through the Payments Authority
- Advanced Standards Expertise: Proven experience with ISO 20022 migration projects, specifically within high-value payment systems or cross-border banking environments
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of ISO 20022 XML syntax, payment market infrastructures, and message flows (pacs, camt, pain).
- Proficiency in SWIFT MyStandards web platform, Online Editor, Readiness Portal, XML editing tools and Jira
- Industry Knowledge of HVPS , CBPR , and Fedwire implementation of ISO 20022
- Experience working within Agile development teams and translating business requirements into user stories
- Ability to simplify complex technical standards for a variety of audiences, from developers to executive stakeholders
- Familiarity with the interoperability challenges between ISO 20022 and legacy formats including mapping and translation logic
- Strategic Leadership: Prior experience leading a "Community of Practice" or acting as a subject matter expert (SME) in a large-scale digital transformation or core-banking modernization
- Regulatory Familiarity: Understanding of how ISO 20022 rich data supports AML, KYC, and Sanctions screening efficiencies for our participants
