Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist helps manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure the accuracy of financial records. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, values public service and brings a solution-focused approach to their work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process weekly accounts payables by matching invoices and receipts with purchase orders and verifying accuracy and looking for discrepancies.
- Enter information into QuickBooks.
- Manage communication with vendors.
- Request W-9 information from vendors.
- Sorting and filing.
- Assist with all accounting functions.
- Any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in accounting, preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of professional experience in accounting.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and QuickBooks software.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Great project management skills, including organization, time management and prioritization.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management, employees, and customers.
- Physically able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk, work on a computer and able to lift medium loads.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Base Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
