Duties
The Head Athletics Coach will report to the Director of Student Athletics. The Head Coach will be responsible for the following duties:
- Instruct student-athletes in the rules, fundamentals, individual player development, sportsmanship, and leadership of their respective sport(s). In addition to these teaching duties, the Head Coach is responsible for establishing the team’s philosophy, skills, strategies, and techniques.
- Oversee and/or provide instruction in current fundamentals, techniques, and strategies related to one or more sports.
- Lead regular practice sessions and competitions in a safe physical environment and provide appropriate emergency care when necessary.
- Perform all duties in compliance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA/NJCAA, the College, the applicable conference, and the University.
- Recruit eligible student-athletes, supervise study activities, and monitor academic progress.
- Manage assigned budgets and oversee one or more athletic facilities, as needed.
- Serve as a positive and professional role model and mentor to the student community by treating all individuals with dignity and respect. Ensure a safe environment free from harassment and discrimination and report any violations of ethical conduct.
- Participate in and/or lead fundraising activities and community service events, as required.
- Supervise athletics and support staff, as assigned.
- Transport team(s) to off-site practices and events, when required.
- Participate in extensive travel, including overnight and weekend commitments.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

- Assists in developing and implementing varsity sport program(s)
- Recruits local and national high school and junior college players, participating in a variety of admissions events and networking with sources
- Prepares and conducts daily practice and game schedules
- Performs duties in compliance with NCAA rules and policies as well as College and University policy
- Supervises study activities for student-athletes and monitors academic progress reports
- Manages game activities such as setup and break down of facilities, greeting opposing teams and officials, and hiring staff
- Assists with planning, implementation, and evaluation of other programs and services for both varsity teams and the general student body.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
