POSITION DETAILS
The Office of the Chancellor at The City University of New York supports the Chief Executive Officer of the University in planning and developing institutional strategy and policy on all educational and administrative matters. It serves as a key liaison, coordinating with internal and external constituencies, including the University and campus leaders, faculty, students, City and State officials, outside agencies, and members of the community at large. The Chancellor’s Office collaborates closely with the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Strategy & Policy Implementation and the Office of Transformation to implement institutional strategic priorities.
Reporting to the Confidential Executive Associate to the Chancellor, the Finance Coordinator assists the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Strategy & Policy Implementation, and the Office of Transformation in handling financial and budget operations with processes critical to their day-to-day activities, in compliance with CUNY, RFCUNY, and NYS policies and guidelines. The Coordinator collaborates with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Budget, vendors, and payees to ensure timely payments, expense reconciliations, reimbursements, streamline workflows, resolve issues, and ensure accuracy and compliance.

Salary range is $54,268 - $65,946, commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following
- Processes travel authorizations and expense reports for the Chancellor, Senior Vice Chancellor for Strategy & Policy Implementation, and Chief Transformation Officer.
- Reconciles procurement charges for the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Strategy & Policy Implementation, and the Office of Transformation.
- Processes requisitions and receipts in CUNYBuy to procure goods and services for the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Strategy & Policy Implementation, and the Office of Transformation; may involve assisting with managing contracts and Memoranda of Understanding.
- Submits research funded payment requests in the RFCUNY system (currently Concur) for the Chancellor and the Senior Vice Chancellor for Strategy & Policy Implementation.
- Reconciles credit card charges in the RFCUNY system for the Chancellor and Chancellor’s Chief of Staff.
- Tracks all travel and procurement activities to ensure timely processing and resolves any issues promptly and thoroughly.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Two years of finance and procurement related experience.
- Experience with PeopleSoft (CUNYfirst), CUNYBuy, and/or Concur strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn CUNY and NYS purchasing regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective team building, decision-making, and independent working abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Performs financial analysis and administrative work related to College or unit accounting.
- Prepares, reconciles and distributes expenditure and related accounting reports
- Creates and maintains various spreadsheets related to financial analysis
- Processes and tracks transactional entries
- Provides support in the administration of various business operations
- Coordinates with various departments on accounting matters
- Monitors systems and operations to assure a smooth workflow
