Role Description
CUNY SPH is seeking an AI Governance Specialist to oversee the development of a self-paced, instructional module that will be hosted on the SPH learning management system for MPH and PhD students. on AI Governance, Data Sovereignty, and Regulatory Compliance that will equip students for leadership roles in responsible AI deployment and data stewardship. This module will focus on real-world deployment challenges, training students to navigate complex regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, and the EU AI Act to manage liability, mitigate risks from algorithmic bias and AI hallucination, and adhere to modern ethical standards such as the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Sovereignty.
Total compensation is $5500.
Work may begin immediately and must conclude by June 15. Work may be fully remote.
Qualifications
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
Must be experienced in/familiar with most of the following topics.
*navigating complex regulatory landscapes, including HIPAA
*modern data ethics guildelines
*AI oversight, including mitigating algorithmic bias, managing AI hallucinations, and ensuring model transparency.
*fundamentals of data governance, with a focus on data quality, privacy, and secure access controls within a public health or academic setting.
*modern delivery patterns and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) and their application in data product lifecycles.
*crafting governance artifacts
*designing online educational/training materials
