The responsibility of the Level I Support Technician is to provide remote support to The City Technology Group's clients to setup, maintain, and troubleshoot technical issues related to information systems.

The responsibility of the Level I Support Technician is to provide remote support to The City Technology Group's clients to setup, maintain, and troubleshoot technical issues related to information systems.
- Previous Customer Service experience required.
- Ability to provide excellent customer services in all situations. Ability to communicate technical terms in a non-technical format that the client can understand for troubleshooting purposes.
- Excellent inter-personal skills are essential in the day to day task including the ability to keep calm in stressful situations which is a must.
- Troubleshoot and correct problems with Microsoft and Apple applications to include the Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Requires basic knowledge of LAN/WAN inter-networking concepts and technologies, including but not limited to routing, bridging, network topologies, TCP/IP and other transport protocols.
- Receive, log and respond to customer incidents reported via telephone, web and email queues.
- Setup new client onsite applications for access to various management systems.
- All calls will be entered and tracked in web-based trouble ticket management system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Candidate must reside within a 30-minute commute of Southeast Houston to be considered for the position. This will ensure all on-site service requests are answered in a timely manner.

- Proficient with Windows, MS-DOS, and Apple operating systems and applications
- Ability to learn new applications quickly
- Use of PC based applications to program and diagnose hardware and software based solutions
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office applications suite
- Previous experience in a help desk environment
- Experience troubleshooting PC hardware and software incidents in a WAN/LAN environment
- High School Diploma
- 2 years degree in a computer science related field or 2 years equivalent experience
