********************************************************************************************************************This position performs semi-skilled manual labor, focusing on general grounds and facilities maintenance tasks throughout the City of Saginaw.
- Conducts various groundskeeping duties including mowing grass, weed whipping, edging, and shrub and tree maintenance.
- Assists with leave collection across parks, cemeteries, and city-owned properties.
- Performs brush, trash and litter removal as required.
- Assists in setting up parks for special events.
- Manages winter tasks such as plowing, snow shoveling, salting, snow blowing, cleaning, and painting. Assists with building maintenance as assigned.
- Provides support to the building maintenance staff when needed.
- Acts as a team leader for city staff, temporary seasonal staff as requested.
- Assists in cemeteries as required and may be asked to demonstrate task-specific skills.

- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- General mechanical aptitude with knowledge of gas/diesel powered mowing equipment.
- Experience operating various grounds maintenance equipment, including trucks with trailers, minim dumps, mowers (large winged and zero turn), weed whips, chainsaws, chippers, and leaf blowers
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Good attendance records acceptable to management.
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
1. Responsible for proper pre-inspection of equipment.
2. Ensures the use of proper mowing techniques.
3. Adheres to proper safety techniques for all equipment.
Working Conditions- Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be in good physical condition, able to bend, stoop, crawl, and lift items up to 50 pounds.
Salary : $35,360 - $38,563
