Job Summary
This position is responsible for responding to fire alarms, emergency medical calls,
traffic accidents, rescue, and other emergency calls to protect life and property.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents.
- Provide emergency medical services and first aid.
- Advocate for fire prevention and safety to public/ school programs
- Provide manpower and assistance to neighboring fire and local EMS
- Conduct pre-incident surveys on all businesses throughout coverage area,
- Perform routine maintenance on apparatus, performed detailed weekly
- Perform daily inspections of all equipment and emergency medical supplies.
- Perform weekly operation and cleaning of both aerial apparatuses.
- Provide medical standby services to city for all major events.
- Maintain cleanliness of station assigned.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all hydrants in coverage area.
- Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all houseline’s both actively in
- Drill field training, physical training, teach CPR and First-Aid classes.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
• High School diploma or GED.
Required Certifications, Licenses, and/or Skills
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Must pass drug screening and background check.
- Firefighter I
- EMT l or higher.
- HAZMAT Operations.
- Class B driver's license within 3 months of hire.

Physical Demand
Very Heavy Work – Involves lifting objects weighting more than 100 pounds at a time
with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
Work Environment
Dangerous work with the possibility of prolonged periods working in high heat, high-
stress situations.
Involves routine exposure to fire and smoke, and dangerous chemicals and poisonous
gases.
