SEASONAL DPS WORKER
The City of Monroe is currently accepting applications for seasonal positions in the Department of Public Services (DPS) for Forestry and Grounds Maintenance workers. Applications must be submitted on the City of Monroe website (www.monroemi.gov)
This is a temporary, seasonal role that requires considerable physical effort and general labor. Candidates will need to use both manual and power tools, as well as light equipment and vehicles.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: watering, planting flowers and trees, weeding, raking, trimming trees with power tools, operating a chipper truck, cleaning up stumps, mulching, and mowing lawns. Additionally, workers may be asked to assist with general labor tasks in other work groups as needed.
Applicants must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License and must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment.
Starting pay is $16.00 per hour.
