What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletics Program Assistant position at The City of Fort Worth?

Pay Range: $18.00 /hr

Job Posting Closing on: Thursday, November 6, 2025

Workdays & Hours: Monday – Thursday (weekdays) 2pm – 6pm and Saturdays (weekend) 8am – 2pm. This is a part-time position that works up to 7 hours per week with no benefits.

An Athletics Program Assistant job is available with The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department-Youth Sports. The Park & Recreation Department maintains more than 200 parks and public spaces citywide, as well as providing recreational activities and educational programming that makes Fort Worth a great place to live, work and play. High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be age 18 or older (17 if a high school graduate)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual candidate in English/Spanish
  • Experience with playing or coaching organized sports, with at least one sport being Soccer, Basketball and/or Football

The Athletics Program Assistant job responsibilities include:

  • Assist with coordinating and conducting youth sports and recreational programming
  • Keep score and maintain records of games
  • Set up and clean up after games are completed
  • Distribute and collect all equipment used during games
  • Ensure games are kept on schedule
  • Provide assistance to the Youth Sports Programmers
  • Keep abreast of sports rules and regulations for City-established youth leagues

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.

Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up-to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
