Job Description:

This role will perform various types of maintenance at City owned facilities. This includes electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance at Joe Riley Stadium, the Greenburg Complex and Police Headquarters.

Examples of Duties:

• Completes electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance.
• Operates specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline.
• May lead the work of maintenance crews at the worksite, ensuring that the work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Receives work orders, prioritizes and distributes them according to division procedures.
• Estimates project materials from blueprints and purchases necessary supplies.
• Maintains records of all work performed.
• Works extended hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and/or buildings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May also require certification in one or more of the following within 6 months of hire: Confined space training and/or Respiratory Training
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
• Ability to perform work order management through smart phone, tablet and/or computer.

Other Necessary Requirements:

• May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
