Job Overview
City of Bryan Street Department is seeking a qualified Equipment Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as dump truck, motor grader, backhoe, street sweeper, sewer jet and rodder, roller, snow plow and stump grinder.
- Install or replace traffic control signs.
- Clean and repair catch basins and man holes.
- Remove hazardous and dead trees and stumps from the City terrace.
- Remove and replace curb and gutter, driveway approaches, and sidewalks.
- Repair or install new sanitary and storm sewers.
- Repair streets with hot asphalt, cold mix, or dura patch.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks on the job site.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and achieve project goals.
- Assist in site preparation and cleanup activities as required..
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.
- Previous experience in commercial driving is a plus but will need to be obtained within one year of employment. - Class B with air brakes and tanker endorsement.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability for tasks.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.60 - $22.66 per hour
