The City of Brewer, Maine is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to fill the full-time position of Laborer/Light Equipment Operator. The Brewer Public Works Department is dynamic and versatile department responsible for much of the city’s infrastructure including the maintenance and construction of streets, sidewalks, storm water, and sewer systems.
Experience with operating a variety of light equipment, working on construction type projects, as well as basic carpentry, masonry skills, and snow removal operations are highly desirable. The City is willing to provide training the right candidate who is highly motivated and demonstrates enthusiasm to learn. The candidate selected for this position should already have a valid Class B Maine Commercial driver’s license, or have the ability to obtain one within 6-months of hire. Candidates must have a high school diploma, or a G.E.D. equivalent, in order to apply for this position. The selected candidate must be able to successfully pass a pre-hire physical, drug screening, and background check.
