Seasonal - Streetlight Painter - Electric Department
JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, the Streetlight Painter worker to assist with the maintenance of city streetlight poles. The primary responsibility is to prep and paint metal surfaces to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. Work will primarily involve a variety of maintenance activities maintained by the Electric Department.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs manual labor tasks, including painting and general repairs. Transports supplies and equipment as required.
- Working in or near street rights-of-way
- Clean up work site upon completion of each assignment or workday.
- Notifies supervisors concerning the need for repairs found in the field.
- Operates a variety of manual and/or power equipment and tools.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Work requires regular physical presence at the job site to perform job duties. Must be available to work flexible hours on a regular basis.
- Ability to interact with members of the public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to perform required job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Michigan Driver's License and safe driving record at time of appointment.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Incumbents in this classification may be exposed to adverse conditions such as inclement weather, dust, heat, and wind. Work in this classification may involve exposure to: chemicals, moving machinery, vibrations; vehicles and equipment with moving parts; fumes; gases; obnoxious smells; loud noise and materials. Work involves manual labor requiring walking, standing, climbing, sitting, kneeling, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally; turning, pushing, pulling, climbing to perform repairs, use of ladders, stooping and squatting on a repetitive basis. Overhead work is occasional. Incumbents must be able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction.
