Data Processor

Job Summary:

The Data Processor is responsible for maintaining accurate financial transaction records by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and processing incoming and outgoing wire transfers. This role also includes reviewing and processing mobile deposit files, as well as developing and maintaining bookkeeping policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Data Processor will support Cash Management customers and perform a variety of other data processing functions as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of account maintenance including flagging accounts, changing customers’ account status on the core system.

• Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
• Creates entries to debit and credit the company’s clearing accounts.
• Work with Automated Clearing House (ACH) entries, including returns and originated entries.
• Verify Stop Payment forms and return items when presented.
• Work incoming and outgoing checks, including returns, unposted, chargebacks, and NSF items.
• Process/Verify incoming and outgoing wires including input into tracking program, confirms balances, performs call backs when necessary and reconcile transactions daily against Fed.
• Review and process check deposits made through the mobile banking application. 
• Record and process subpoenas.
• Verify internal transfers posted online with reports and other required documentation and report discrepancies.
• Assist Cash Management customers with implementation, training, and ongoing support.
• Process various balancing reports and debit card orders.
• Review of accounts opened via Online Account Opening software, including updates to existing customer information as well as verification of new customer information. 
• Processing of debit cards for accounts opened online. 
• Online messaging with customers regarding accounts opened online as well as checks deposited via the mobile deposit application. 
• Open to cross training in different areas of the Data Processing Center.
• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality/privacy of information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
• Proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Ability to be trustworthy and act with integrity.
• Demonstrate initiative and commitment to continuous learning and the ability to adapt to change. 

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least three years of experience in the financial industry preferred. 
• Knowledge of debits and credits preferred.
• Knowledge of ACH entries preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
