Job Summary:
Through a strong Christian worldview, the Resident Assistant Supervisor is responsible for providing a high level of hospitality and care to the residents we serve. Oversees the security of the staff, residents, visitors, and volunteers of The City Mission (TCM) as well as TCM’s physical property. The Supervisor will manage the Resident Assistant (RA) staff, and any PRN/Staffing Agencies for Crossroads to include RA shift scheduling, supervision, and management of RA team and adherence to the safety policies and procedures for Crossroads.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and manages the department/staff effectively and efficiently.
- Assists in the interviewing of potential staff and makes recommendations for hiring.
- Coaches, corrects, rewards, recognizes, and reviews interns in accordance with TCM’s Core Values & policies.
- Completes Performance Management Tool process for all direct reports.
Essential Job Functions:
Manages & Guides Resident Assistants
- Supervises RA team including selecting, training, advising, scheduling, and time tracking (timecard and time off request approvals).
- Sets goals for RA team and individuals; monitoring progress, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews, corrective counseling, and discipline when necessary.
- Conducts regular RA team meetings.
- Ensures the shift responsibilities are being completed by the appropriate shift.
Ensures Adherence to Safety Policies and Procedures
- Ensures RA team is trained and in compliance with all safety and security policies, procedures, and goals of programming.
- Regularly communicates Crossroads services and expectations with staff and residents.
- Represents RA experience within Crossroads programming.
- Responds to concerns from staff regarding any RA related incidents.
Other Responsibilities
- Works with program manager to investigate incidents and grievances.
- Works in conjunction with COO or program manager to provide leadership in campus wide safety initiatives.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree (or working towards Bachelor’s degree) is preferred.
4 years’ related experience in safety and security, management, rescue missions, or another relevant field is required.
