Job Summary:
Through a strong Christian worldview, the Infant Lead Teacher provides a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 6 weeks to 18 months. This role plans daily routines, supports developmental milestones, communicates effectively with families, and maintains a safe, clean, and engaging classroom.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This role does not currently supervise other staff; however, this role will supervise volunteers and interns as applicable.
• Coaches, corrects, rewards, recognizes, and reviews volunteers and interns in accordance with TCM’s Core Values & policies.
Essential Job Functions:
Implements and Assesses Education Plans
· Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood standards and program goals.
· Incorporate faith-based activities and values into daily routines and lessons.
· Conduct ongoing developmental observations/assessments and maintain individualized plans and daily documentation.
· Provide hands-on care, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and structured floor interaction.
· Collaborate with case management to implement and monitor Individual Service Plans and measurable outcomes.
· Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe classroom environment following state licensing and program standards.
· Ensure all documentation, ratios, and reporting requirements are met consistently.
Maintains and Supports Educational Environment
· Build trust and professional relationships with families through communication, conferences, and written updates.
· Share developmental milestones and support families with resources or guidance when appropriate.
· Provide leadership, support, and direction to assistant teachers or volunteers in the classroom.
· Model best practices in infant care and guide staff in maintaining a positive and consistent routine.
· Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program-wide initiatives.
· Regularly assesses the needs of the room to ensure supplies and equipment are clean and up to date.
· Regularly engages in professional development to stay current with research regarding childhood development, trauma, and other related topics.
Family Ministries Department Support
· Assists in all classrooms as the census dictates.
· Provides support for Family Ministries team and TCM special events as needed.
