Job Summary:
Through a strong Christian worldview, serves residents and staff attractive and nutritious meals. Trains and supervises staff and residents assigned to the kitchen and strives to run a safe and effective operation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and manages the department/staff effectively and efficiently.
- Assists in the interviewing of potential staff and makes recommendations for hiring.
- Coaches, corrects, rewards, recognizes, and reviews staff, volunteers, and OSS residents in accordance with TCM’s Core Values & policies.
- Completes the Performance Management Tool process for all direct reports quarterly and annually.
Essential Job Functions:
Oversees Food Service Operations
- Creates a menu of attractive and nutritious meals.
- Orders and tracks required food and kitchen supplies.
- Schedules adequate staff, volunteer, and OSS resident staffing.
- Ensure staff, volunteers, and OSS residents are properly trained.
- Monitor and oversee staff, volunteers, and OSS residents in the kitchen.
- Obtain and maintain applicable ServSafe certifications for proper personnel.
- Accountable to health department mandates.
Prepares and Serves Food
- Cooks and prepares food according to recipes, directions, menus, and the Ohio Department of Health standards.
- Prepares items for the day, following proper dating procedures for products.
Cleaning and Sanitation
- Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Assists in the storage and disposal of unused food.
Other Responsibilities
- Coordinates meals for special events and activities requiring food service.
- Maintains and tracks the LH food service budget.
- Statistical reporting for the department.
- Works with the Volunteer Coordinator to facilitate volunteer meal provider groups.
