Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Theater Manager to lead the daily operations of our vibrant entertainment venue. Duties
- Oversee all theater operations, including department scheduling, staffing, and event coordination to ensure seamless performances and guest satisfaction
- Lead and supervise staff members, bartenders, concessions, guest services, facilities maintenance, and hospitality personnel, fostering a motivated and collaborative team environment
- Manage day-to-day shift operations, including opening and closing procedures, and operational checks to maintain safety and efficiency
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure proper functioning of sound, lighting, and stage equipment for all performances
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance guest services and streamline processes
- Monitor budget adherence, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation to maximize venue profitability
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure an outstanding guest experience at all times
- Prepare detailed reports on event performance, attendance figures, operational issues, and staff productivity for senior management review
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in theater or event venue management with a strong background in operations management
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory or managerial roles in hospitality or entertainment settings
- Extensive experience in events management—planning, executing, and overseeing various types of performances or shows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report writing and data analysis
- Strong management skills with the ability to make effective managerial decisions quickly under pressure
- Experience supervising staff in fast-paced environments such as theaters or resorts is highly desirable
- Knowledge of technical systems related to sound, lighting and projector equipment is a plus
- Prior experience in cash handling, budgeting, customer service excellence, and shift management is essential
- FDNY Certifications F3/S95; NYC Food Handlers Certificate or obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Hospitality or restaurant experience will be advantageous
- Previous assistant manager or managerial decision-making experience in similar venues will strengthen your application
- Hospitality/Culinary Degree preferred but not necessary
