PBM Strategy Intern – Job Description

Title: PBM Strategy Intern
Location: St. Louis, MO (In-office at least 50% of the time with flexibility)
Position Type: 10-week Paid Internship (Full-time, 40 hours weekly)

The Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) Strategy and Business Development team leverages market insights and competitive intelligence to drive operational efficiency within the organization. As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that have a tangible impact on the healthcare industry, while gaining valuable experience, insights, relationships, and career opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the PBM Strategy and Business Development team on special projects related to market insights, competitive intelligence, and business efficiency spanning cross-functional teams focused on improving health outcomes, driving organizational value, meeting our financial performance goals, and being the employer of choice in the industry.
- Assist in project management across various ad hoc or assigned projects
- Engage in project planning and execution, providing valuable input and assistance
- Identify process improvement opportunities and offer recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in a healthcare business environment
- Collaborate with team members to support sales enablement and enhance collaboration across the organization

Qualifications:
- A self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Effective time management and organization skills
- Ability to thrive in a sometimes sensitive, fast-paced, highly collaborative, executive-facing environment
- Strong relationship-building skills
Eligibility:
- Currently an undergraduate junior or senior studying business, finance, life science, or another healthcare-related field
- Prefer cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Candidates must be eligible for employment in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
