Role Overview
The Software Engineering Lead Analyst provides expert technical leadership on complex application development assignments and initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications, with a strong focus on Oracle PL/SQL–based systems. The Lead Analyst partners closely with business stakeholders, architects, and IT teams to ensure scalable, high-quality application solutions are delivered across multiple computing environments, including database-centric, distributed, and client-server platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation activities across the full application development life cycle.
- Serves as a technical subject matter expert for Oracle PL/SQL, providing hands-on development and guidance for complex database logic, packages, procedures, functions, and performance tuning.
- Collaborates with business partners, product owners, and IT leadership to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Provides technical direction and mentoring to junior developers and offshore/onshore development teams.
- Designs and enforces development standards, coding best practices, and reusable components to ensure consistency and maintainability.
- Reviews and approves technical designs, code, and deployment artifacts to ensure alignment with architectural and security standards.
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex application and data issues, including performance bottlenecks and production defects.
- Supports application modernization, enhancements, and integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
- Participates in release planning, change management, and production support activities to ensure stable and reliable application delivery.
Expertise and Leadership
The Software Engineering Lead Analyst exercises considerable judgment, technical depth, and foresight in planning and delivering application solutions. Recognized internally as a technical leader, this role provides guidance to functional and technical stakeholders on application architecture, database design, and development best practices. While the primary focus is application development, the Lead Analyst contributes to broader initiatives that require an understanding of enterprise systems, data flows, and business processes.
Required Qualifications
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL, including complex stored procedures, packages, triggers, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience across the application development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and production support.
- Experience working in large, complex enterprise application environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with application integration patterns and data-intensive systems.
- Exposure to modern development practices such as CI/CD, version control, and automated testing.
- Prior experience in a technical lead or senior analyst role.
