Software Engineering Associate Advisor
Position Summary:
Software Engineering Associate Advisor – Job Description: Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is looking for an engineer to join our Customer Experience Platform team within the Advanced Analytics and Experience Engineering organization. We are looking for exceptional engineer who has a problem-solving mentality and a passion for continuous improvement. The candidate will be responsible for working cross functionally to develop solutions to support outbound member, prescriber and client communications. To perform this role, the engineer will need to understand business needs starting from understanding the requirements to deploying the software into production. This role requires you to be fluent in some of the critical technologies with proficiency in others and have a hunger to learn on the job and add value to the business.
Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Write referenceable & modular code and have experience in all the phases of SDLC
- Hands on experience developing or using CI/CD solutions for application
- Inquisitive, analytical, and investigative, all while keeping the customer in mind
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to see around the corner is essential
- Take ownership and accountability and have a desire to simplify & automate
- Have a quality mindset, not just code quality but also to ensure ongoing data quality by monitoring data to identify problems before they have business impact
Experience Required:
- 8 - 11 years of Software Engineering experience
- 5 years of experience in Python
- 5 years of working in an AWS
- 2 years of experience in Java
Experience Desired:
- Knowledge and/or experience with healthcare information domains
- Database development & tuning
- Performance (threading, indexing, clustering, caching)
- Build serverless, message, and event driven interfaces using available cloud solutions
- Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS (e.g., S3, EC2, ECS, Lambda) for designing, deploying, and managing scalable data solutions
- Solid understanding of backend application development principles and best practices
- SDLC development methodologies
Education and Training Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent relevant work experience and technical knowledge
Primary Skills:
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, OpenShift
- Languages: Python, React, Java, JavaScript, Terraform, Go Lang
- AWS Services: Lamba, Event Bridge, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3
- Design Patterns
