What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Expense Controller position at The Cigna Group?
The Expense Controller position for the Americas, International Markets works in conjunction with Operations, IT Finance, and various departments leads within the organization to provide financial and analytical support to the business. Responsible for duties such as monthly expense reporting, headcount reporting, projection updates, and business updates. The Advisor assists in the creation of the budget/forecast/strategic plan information and ensuring it is properly managed in the budget/forecasting/strategic plan process or tool.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support analyses relating to operating expenses, including compensation, headcount, and expenses in order to support the Americas business
Conduct in-depth analyses to identify business costs, explain past performance, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Lead discussions with Operations, IT Finance, TH&N, and other department leads as it relates to the expense planning and hiring.
Perform month end close responsibilities and quarterly projections as it relates to expenses. Partner within the finance team and Accounting to deliver accurate and complete data for the financials.
Facilitating actual to budget/forecast variance analysis. Identification of opportunities to improve future forecasting capabilities to reduce variances within key strategic areas.
Participate in department and company projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA preferred.
4 years of financial analysis or related experience
Excellent customer service, technical, analytical, and communication skills required.
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office, the Internet and Data Querying; Strong data systems experience. Experience with Salesforce and Expense reporting tools (OnePlan and TM1) a plus.
Ability to handle complex analysis from issue identification to proposal of potential solutions.
Knowledge of Healthcare and Insurance industry preferred
Demonstrated initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 89,300 - 148,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
