The Church in Sag Harbor is seeking a Visitor Engagement and Outreach Assistant to attend the front desk and assist in our marketing campaigns– be the first face that people encounter when they walk into the East End’s dynamic hub for art, creativity, and community.
The candidate must be creative and enjoy working within a small team that is mission-driven and arts-oriented. They should have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively. Because The Church offers many events for which regular occasional help would be needed, applicants must be willing to work flexible hours, within reason.
Responsibilities include:
- Ticket sales, attendance, and reservations for events
- Social media, digital, and other marketing support
- Merchandise sales to visitors and keep tabs on inventory
- Manage daily attendance records and cash donations
- Manage and maintain the main floor reception area and office supplies
- Interact with the public, respond to inquiries and help monitor the building
- Perform other administrative or event support tasks as needed
- Serve as the public face to welcome visitors as needed
- Greet visitors, answer the phone, and respond knowledgeably to inquiries related to exhibitions, events and residencies
- Update the website and assist in social media and marketing campaigns
- Other projects as related to visitor experience and outreach
Qualifications:
- Work experience in a service-related industry (retail, hospitality, food service) and/ or the arts, reception, or related creative or community setting
- Detail-oriented and well organized individual
- Friendly and personable, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management
- Proactive work ethic
- Experience with social media for business purpose
Pay: $30.00 per hour
