What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rector's Assistant position at The Church of the Ascension?
The Rector’s Assistant provides direct administrative, liturgical, and operational support to the Rector. This role ensures the smooth weekly functioning of worship services, parish records, Vestry support, and office operations, with a strong emphasis on reliability, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Work Location & Schedule Expectations
This position is primarily on-site. The Rector’s Assistant is expected to work on-site four (4) days per week, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Remaining hours, if any, may be scheduled in consultation with the Rector to meet parish needs.
Overtime and Seasonal Flexibility
This is a non-exempt position. Overtime worked on weekends, church-recognized holidays, for over 40 hours worked in a week, for over 12 hours of consecutive work or for more than 12 hours in a workday, will be compensated in accordance with FLSA regulations.
The Rector’s Assistant is expected to exercise flexibility during peak church seasons (including Advent, Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter), when additional hours may be required. Such scheduling adjustments will be coordinated in advance with the Rector.

Realm – Church management and giving database.
Google Workspace – Cloud storage and shared documents.
Microsoft 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Zoom – Online meetings.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
