- Ensure the temple reflects the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature of the temple experience.
- Maintain standards established by the First Presidency.
- Train, motivate, and supervise a crew of full and/or part-time custodians or volunteers.
- Assist in custodial work to assure that church buildings are clean and orderly at all times.
- Typically responsible for up to 40,000 square feet.
- Typcially supervises a crew of up to 8 employees.
- Supervise a crew of custodians by interviewing prospects, providing training, creating schedules, assisting in performance management and assigning individual tasks.
- Make decisions, under the direction of the manager, on proper equipment, techniques, chemicals and maintenance of church buildings.
- Maintain discipline, performance and morale among custodians.
- Monitor physical condition of all areas and reports maintenance and repair needs to manager.
- Initiate orders for custodial supplies and stay within budget.
- Perform custodial work including but not limited to: vacuuming, dusting, mopping; cleaning kitchen/cafeteria, restrooms, carpets and upholstery; and washing windows.
- Two to four years of custodial, maintenance, or related experience.
- Experience working in a temple is preferred.
- One to two years of supervisory experience.
- Thorough knowledge of important aspects of custodial maintenance, including custodial supplies and cleaning chemicals.
- Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Degree or certification in custodial maintenance or related field preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs/23 kgs.
