Job Description
This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' Accounting Clerks are support, entry level, individual contributors that perform routine tasks such as processing reports, stewardship over petty cash, making deposits, maintaining accurate records, monitoring and creating budgets. The clerk will help prepare monthly financial reports and journal entries and Assist MTC stewards with various questions regarding their budgets, financial statements, etc. In addition, the incumbent maintains and seeks to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned financial reports and processes.

Responsibilities
Reports to manager in Finance department
- Stewardship over petty cash, maintains accurate records and making deposits
- Payments of invoices
- Prepares monthly financial reports and journal entries
- Assists MTC Account Stewards with their budgets and monthly reports as well as other various questions
- Helps prepare annual budget
- Assists MTC Sr. Financial Analyst and MTC Controller in other tasks and analysis
- May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year completion of an accounting undergraduate program.
- First year in masters accounting program or first year in bachelors accounting program with plans to complete a masters.
- Proficiency in Excel and an understanding of Visual Basic (VBA) with a desire to learn more.
- Basic understanding of Tableau.
- Understanding of GAAP

- 1 years of previous accounting/clerk experience
