Company Description
THE CHOU FIRM, APC is a boutique civil litigation law firm looking for an entry to mid-level paralegal. While some experience is preferred, we are open to training the right candidate who demonstrates strong potential and a willingness to learn.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Paralegal role located in Arcadia, CA. The Paralegal will be responsible for legal document preparation, drafting, communications with clients and other attorneys, conducting research, document review, and other day-to-day tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of law and legal procedures
- Experience in Legal Document Preparation, Drafting and Document Review
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Research skills to gather information for cases
- Experience in real estate law is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Paralegal Studies or related field
Job Duties
Under the supervision of the attorneys, the paralegal will perform the following job duties, including but not limited to:
- Drafting legal forms, discovery requests and responses, routine pleadings, motions and correspondence;
- Preparing and submitting electronic court filings in state courts;
- Coordinating service of legal documents, subpoenas and notices;
- Compiling, preparing, organizing, storing, retrieving, bates stamping documents, exhibits and trial binders;
- Conducting legal and factual research; and
- Maintaining and updating the Firm’s calendar, case deadlines and schedules.
Technical Proficiency
Proficiency with the following programs is required:
- Microsoft Word (mandatory);
- Adobe Acrobat (mandatory);
- Microsoft Excel; and
- Lexis Nexis.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience (especially in civil litigation, real estate, landlord/tenant disputes);
- Familiarity with California state court rules and electronic filing systems;
- Paralegal certificate or relevant coursework (not required).
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay is dependent on experience ($28-38/hour).
- Benefits are available after completion of the initial probationary period.
