What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocational Counselor/Job Coach position at THE CHOICE GROUP, INC.?
Are you passionate about helping others reach their full potential? We’re looking for a dedicated and motivated Vocational Counselor/Job Coach to support individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive, integrated employment in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one job coaching and guidance to clients seeking employment
- Assist clients with resume building, job applications, and interviews
- Make employer connections in the community through individualized job development
- Support clients on job sites, providing hands-on training
- Help clients develop workplace readiness skills, including communication, time management, and professionalism
- Collaborate with employers to ensure successful job placements and retention
- Track client progress and maintain accurate documentation
Qualifications:
- Self-starter with strong time management, interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
- Experience working with people with disabilities as well as case management, coaching, counseling, or workforce development (preferred)
Education:
Prefers a Master’s degree in a related field plus 1 year of related experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of related experience, an Associate’s degree (or equivalent credits) in a related field plus 4 years of experience, or a high school diploma and 10 years of related experience.
