The Children’s Preschool is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and reflective Preschool Teacher who believes children are capable, curious learners and is committed to an emergent, play-based curriculum. The ideal candidate creates meaningful learning experiences based on children's interests, observations, and developmental needs while fostering strong relationships with families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement an emergent, child-centered curriculum using progressive early childhood education practices.
  • Observe, document, and assess children's learning through ongoing anecdotal records, photographs, and work samples.
  • Create engaging classroom environments that encourage exploration, creativity, inquiry, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate closely with co-teachers to plan curriculum, reflect on children's learning, and maintain a supportive classroom community.
  • Build strong partnerships with families through open communication and active collaboration.
  • Conduct home visits to establish meaningful relationships with families and gain insight into each child's home environment and experiences.
  • Hold parent-teacher conferences twice each year to discuss children's growth, development, and learning goals.
  • Prepare thoughtful narrative summaries that document each child's progress, strengths, and emerging skills.
  • Support children's social-emotional development using respectful, responsive, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom that values diversity and promotes a sense of belonging.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent experience, as applicable).
  • Experience working in preschool or early childhood settings.
  • Knowledge of emergent curriculum, progressive education, and play-based learning.
  • Strong observation, documentation, and reflective practice skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and develop positive partnerships with families.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and honoring the unique strengths of every child.

Salary : $22 - $27
