About The Team
Our Occupational Therapists turn the most advanced techniques and treatments into play to help keep kids engaged with their treatment. We provide a wide variety of pediatric physical health services to improve our young patients’ physical abilities.
About The Position
The Staff Therapist assists the patient in reaching his or her maximum functional potential through comprehensive assessment and intervention services for The Children’s Institute. Infant, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients are served. The Staff Therapist participates in interdisciplinary treatment programs, collaborates and consults with others to facilitate the delivery of therapy services; administers procedures necessary to process patient services; participates in training activities for family members and other professionals.

About The Position
The Staff Therapist assists the patient in reaching his or her maximum functional potential through comprehensive assessment and intervention services for The Children’s Institute. Infant, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients are served. The Staff Therapist participates in interdisciplinary treatment programs, collaborates and consults with others to facilitate the delivery of therapy services; administers procedures necessary to process patient services; participates in training activities for family members and other professionals.
- Evaluates patient’s functional abilities and disabilities and identifies impairments through objective tests and measures or standardized assessment tools.
- Identifies measurable functional goals and develops a treatment plan in collaboration with the patient/family.
- Implements treatment plan of care and adjusts treatment goals and intervention.
- Will use objective data to assess patient’s frequency and duration of care to optimize therapy benefit, considering clinical and financial factors.
- Prepares and plans for discharge during the course of treatment and initiates discharge when indicated.
- Assesses need for assistive technology appropriate for patient & family.
- BS, MS, MOT or OTD from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Must be registered with NBCOT.
- Successful completion of a pediatric affiliation or previous experience with a pediatric population is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of pediatric experience preferred.
- Experience with outpatient coding and billing preferred.
- Credentialing with in-state insurance providers preferred.
- Clearances Required: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, and Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
