Type: Full-time, Exempt

Position Purpose:
Provide case management and work with other members of the treatment team to develop and implement trauma-informed programs designed to meet the physical, developmental, and emotional needs of children in foster care.

Job Specific Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or related human service field with:
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in residential or childcare-related areas, gained through employment or practicum placements during an undergraduate program.

OR

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in residential or childcare-related areas, gained through employment or practicum placements during an undergraduate program.

General Responsibilities:

• Identify the special needs of children and make referrals to appropriate resources as they relate to and assist with those needs regarding school, employment, or social enrichment activities.

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct (as needed) meetings designed to identify and develop strategies for meeting the needs of children in care.

• Ensure each child receives individual, group and family therapy.

General Qualifications for All Employees of The Children’s Home of Lubbock:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to read, write and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel and other persons necessary to care for the young adult’s needs.
• Have a Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Exhibit behavior and health status that does not present a danger to young adult in care.
• Meet the requirements of licensing standards in regards to a criminal background check.
• Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.
• Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.

• Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment
