This position ensures efficient patient flow, delivers high-quality customer service, and supports patient care under the supervision of licensed healthcare personnel. Responsibilities include patient registration, clinical data collection, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, assisting with medical procedures as trained, and promoting positive patient experiences from check-in to check-out.Primary Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:Front Office ResponsibilitiesGreet and engage patients, families, and visitors with professionalism, courtesy, and cultural sensitivity.Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable reception and waiting area at all times.Efficiently register patients in EPIC, verify insurance, update demographic information, and ensure completion of required documentation.Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments in accordance with clinic policies.Answer incoming calls, route messages, and provide accurate information regarding clinic procedures, copayments, and required documents.Collect patient payments, issue receipts, and reconcile the cash drawer with supervisor/manager at end of day.Prepare and organize daily appointment charts and walk-in documentation; scan registration paperwork by close of business.Assist with medical records maintenance, including organizing charts, purging inactive charts, and processing records requests as needed.Make appointment reminder calls and follow up with no-show patients per clinic policy.Maintain front office supply levels and communicate needs to supervisor/manager.Check and manage clinic voicemail and daily mail.Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.Assist with additional clerical tasks as assigned.Medical Assistant ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed clinical personnel.Perform clinical tasks as outlined in the Medical Assistant competency checklist, ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and safety.Collect and document clinical data accurately in accordance with clinic standards and EHR requirements.Participate as an active member of the care team and support implementation of patient care plans.Respond effectively to changing patient needs and clinic priorities.Apply infection control standards consistently and maintain a safe, healthful environment for patients and staff.Demonstrate clinical competency, particularly in women’s health patient care, as applicable.Provide back-office assistance and emergency coverage when needed.Contribute to Performance Improvement projects, staff training, and orientation of new team members or students.Maintain compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and competency requirements. Qualifications:Required:High School Diploma or equivalent.Medical Assistant certification and Phlebotomy certification.Proficiency with computers, typing (35 wpm minimum), Microsoft Office, and general office equipment.Ability to communicate effectively, relate well to diverse populations, and provide exceptional customer service.Reliability, professionalism, trustworthiness, and strong ethical standards.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining confidentiality.Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems (EPIC preferred).Preferred:Two or more years of experience in a medical, hospital, or outpatient clinic setting.Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Khmer.Experience with front desk operations and clinical support tasks.
