The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Transportation Staff member to support our Quality Parenting Center (QPC). In this role, you will safely transport children and families to and from supervised visitation sessions, appointments, and program activities. You will play a key part in ensuring families have reliable access to services by providing professional, compassionate, and consistent transportation support.

What You’ll Do
As Transportation Staff, you will:
- Safely transport children and families to and from scheduled QPC visits and agency-approved appointments.
- Maintain a calm, supportive, and professional demeanor during all transports.
- Follow all agency safety procedures, including seatbelt use, vehicle checks, car seat installation, and youth supervision.
- Communicate promptly with QPC supervisors and staff regarding delays, concerns, or special circumstances
- Ensure vehicles remain clean, organized, and stocked with safety supplies.
- Support the QPC team with coordination and scheduling of transportation needs.
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and protocols
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
- Ability to assist children in and out of vehicles, including lifting car seats up to 25 lbs.
- Comfort driving in various weather conditions and throughout the local community.
- Occasional exposure to challenging behaviors or emotional situations.
- Ability to follow all safety, reporting, and transportation protocols.
