The Child and Family Guidance Center is currently seeking a full time Program Assistant for our Mobile Crisis Intervention Service Program.  

The Program Assistant functions as a detail-oriented and highly organized person who supports the team in delivering rapid, high-quality mental health crisis services for children and families across Southwestern Connecticut. This is a full-time, in-office position which will play a key role in quality assurance, ensuring accuracy and compliance of clinical documentation, screening incoming calls from 211, and dispatching clinicians to crisis locations in real time. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, strong skills in data processing and quality improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following Essential Functions:

  • Screen incoming 2-1-1 and Outpatient ECC calls, triaging appropriately based on urgency and service need.
  • Support families in accessing and securing appropriate community-based and behavioral health services.
  • Collaborate closely with Mobile Crisis clinicians to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care for children and families.
  • Participate in regular supervision, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Utilize the agency's electronic health record system to complete and maintain accurate clinical documentation, program data, and outcome tracking in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized records, assist with data collection, and contribute to ongoing quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in compiling agency reports, program statistics, and billing documentation as required.
  • Provide follow-up support to families through telephonic contact, as needed.
  • Consistently meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Program Regional Director, Unit Director, or CEO of The Child & Family Guidance Center.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and families facing emotional or behavioral challenges is strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required; multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Understanding of child development, family systems, and parenting practices.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems; ability to take efficient, accurate notes and manage data entry tasks effectively.
